One day can change your life. Well that’s the aim of 2020’s Global wellness day. Ask yourself “How can I live a healthier and better life?” To help you make the most of Global Wellness Day, here are 5 ways to achieve better wellness in your life.
Spend one entire day on you.
Sleep in, have lunch with a friend, call your mum, or have a Netflix binge. Do whatever makes you happy and forget about the stresses of daily life.
Try something new.
Trying a new activity or learning a new skill benefits brain and body. Your brain is like a muscle, it needs to be exercised to keep it in good condition. New experiences and skills allow for mental growth and the brain loves stimulation; it grows with use and it withers with inactivity.
They say laughter is the best medicine, and it’s true laughing relaxes the body, burns calories (yes! a study found that 10 minutes of laughter burnt 40 calories), lowers stress hormones which can ease anxiety and tension whilst improving our mood.
Change up your workout routine for two weeks.
If you jog or walk a certain route, find a new one. If every Monday is leg day switch it to a Wednesday, mix it up, keep it fresh and notice the difference.
Set a bold health or wellness goal for next year.
Run a marathon, create a bucket list of books and read them, whatever it is. Set a goal, create a plan and achieve it!
