Which Rooms have a TV and do they come with a licence?
All studio rooms have a TV but you will need to purchase a TV licence if you wish to watch or stream live TV in your flat.
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Sainsbury’s is just a few minute walk down Cambridge Heath Road.
How do I connect to the internet?

You can connect via Wi-Fi or a Cat 5 patch cable – if you don’t have one, speak with Reception and they’ll be able to help.

Where can I do my laundry?
There is a cash operated laundrette on site where washing can be done at significantly below standard rates.
What is in my room?
Your room is fully furnished with: WiFi, small double bed, wardrobe, study desk and chair, couch, various storage cupboards, a TV and en-suite bathroom. You will need to provide your own bedding and crockery and cooking utensils or purchase a bedding or kitchen pack from UniKitOut prior to coming to University.
What is in my kitchen?

Kitchens come equipped with a combi oven/microwave, hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and breakfast bar/stool. You will need to provide your own crockery and cooking utensils or purchase a kitchen pack from UniKitOut prior to coming to University.


Can I personalise my room?
A large pin board is provided in the bedroom for posters. We ask that you don’t put posters on your walls as any damage caused will be chargeable.
Is there a medical centre nearby?
Blithehale medical centre is a 5 minute walk away from The Hive.
Is the Hive safe and secure?
Yes – here at The Hive we have 24-hour a day staff presence, CCTV covering all entrances and communal areas, and secure key fob access so we can keep track of everyone who comes and goes.
Is there always a member of staff available?
Yes, there is 24 hours, 7 days a week, staff presence on site. The management office is also open at various times throughout the week.
Am I allowed to have guests?
Yes. Guests are permitted for a maximum of 2 nights in any week. Please sign them in at reception on arrival.
Can I smoke in the accommodation?

No. Smoking or Vaping is not permitted in any area within The Hive. You can smoke/vape outside the accommodation in designated areas.

Is there a curfew?
No. The secure access fob will allow you to enter and leave the accommodation whenever you wish.
Do you offer any other services?
There are a number of additional services that we offer through 3rd parties.

HPS: Specialist student cleaning company who offer a variety of different cleaning services, including weekly servicing and end of tenancy cleans.
Pinglocker: Operate a ‘concierge’ service in London, including guest beds, dry cleaning, storage, removals and airport transfers.
Unikitout: Offer a variety of different kitchen and bedding packs for students, along with stationary and cleaning products. Packs can be ordered so it’s ready for when you arrive onsite to check in. Quote HOST17 to receive a 10% discount
BA Airport Transfers: Book in advance your airport transfers to our London sites.

How do I cancel a booking?

If you cancel your contract before the contract begins, or you want to cancel and move out early, you will be subject to our cancellation terms and charges.
